We LOVE hiking in GCM State Park. There are lots of ups and downs for elevation, and your body will feel it by the end. If you follow the Superior Hiking Trail going east, you'll catch views of Lake Superior (if you hike far enough ~7 miles roundtrip). If you're looking for a more relaxing hike, check out the Benson Lake Trail loop (.8 miles). State parks pass or day pass required for parking.

This state park is never as busy as the big three (Gooseberry, Split rock and Tettegouche).

(33-minute drive ) 20.6 miles. Head south on Highway 61. The Cascades of the Manitou River is magnificent in its power, especially in the spring for beauty. You will likely encounter few people, though you may see a moose.
